Teresa Elliott

I started as a UHI Moray student in 2008 when I trained to become a counsellor and then again to gain my 1st Class BScH Integrative Healthcare in 2019. At this point I joined the bank staff within UHI Moray before being taken on fulltime. Now I work predominantly within the Counselling Department as the Curriculum Team Leader, while also lecturing across all programmes within the department. In addition, I deliver within the BScH Integrative Healthcare programme, which allows me to bring a broad and diverse skillset to my work.

My role is varied and constantly evolving, which is something I really enjoy. It includes team leadership, curriculum development and delivery, student care and welfare, teaching, and working collaboratively with a range of stakeholders and external organisations. Each aspect of the role brings its own rewards, but what I value most is seeing our students grow in confidence, achieve more than they thought possible, and truly excel.

About me

Outside of work, I lead a busy life and enjoy spending quality time with my family—especially with my (now grown-up) boys. I also appreciate slower days at home, pottering around and cooking.

I like to stay active and regularly take part in free weights, running, and badminton for fun. Exercise gives me valuable focus time, and I find that when my body feels strong, my mind does too. I’m also an avid reader and lifelong learner, always looking for new opportunities to study, grow, and challenge myself and I am currently looking to start my MSc very soon.
