What our students say

Misti Walker – HNC Healthcare Practice
My current course has allowed to develop my knowledge and skills by allowing me to put theoretical learning into a 8-week placement. That has allowed me to develop upon my knowledge by taking it into clinical practice where I can develop upon core skill I will need for my future career.

The mode of teaching has been excellent throughout my time here at UHI. There has been a great mix of both in person and online learning allowing me to gain experience in both type of learning modes.

Jamie-Lee Cowan – SWAP Access to Nursing
This course gave me a second chance at education, after leaving school early years ago and helped me decide this is what I wanted to do for a career.

The course was delivered in a way that really worked for me, and the module content was fascinating. I could relate much of it back to my own life. I learned more how to study, how to speak up when I want to, and how to keep going even when I was struggling with working and parenting alone.

Jacon Buchan – HNC Social Services
I have taken part in student placement during the HNC Social Services course. My placement was in a respite service for Adults with Learning Disabilities. It was a brilliant placement where no two days where the same and you’re always kept on your toes.

It was super helpful to see how all the theory that has been taught during class actually relates to practice and makes it easier to see why legislation has been put in place and also makes understanding theory’s relating to behaviour and development easier.
