Andrea Szabo
With a lifelong passion for health, fitness, and movement, my journey began in childhood through gymnastics, dance, and majorettes. This early love of physical expression led me to initially study dance at Telford College in Edinburgh. However, a significant injury temporarily halted those plans. Undeterred, I later resumed my studies at Ecosse Performers College in Lossiemouth, where I thrived in the immersive, full-time dance environment. Unfortunately, a second injury prevented me from completing my exams, and I made the difficult decision to step away from dance, a choice that deeply affected my confidence.
Fast forward 15 years, I returned to education as a mature student at age 38, enrolling in the HNC Fitness, Health, and Exercise course at UHI Moray. It was one of the best decisions I’ve ever made. Not only did it help me rediscover the confidence I had lost, but it also opened the door to a career that truly inspires me every day.
Now, as part of the team at UHI Moray, I am passionate about supporting others on their own journeys, helping them reach their goals and become the best versions of themselves. For me, this isn’t just a job; it’s a genuine calling. I’m proud to say I’ve found my true passion and am living proof that it’s never too late to pursue what you love.
In addition to my role at UHI Moray, I teach a variety of fitness classes at MLC, all while managing a busy household with four children, a testament to my commitment, energy, and love for what I do.
