UHI Moray Promise Group

Support made with students, for students

Established in 2025 the UHI Moray Promise Group brings students together with our Student Support team to help shape a positive student experience. The group focuses on improving engagement, transitions into college and ongoing support for students who may face additional challenges while studying.

The Promise Group is particularly focused on supporting care experienced students, student carers and estranged students.

Advocacy and having your say

A key benefit of the Promise Group is advocacy. Advocacy helps make sure students feel confident speaking up and know where to go for support.

We work closely with trusted local and national organisations that offer advocacy, mentoring and specialist support. We can help you connect with these services if and when you need them.

Why the Promise Group matters

Being part of the Promise Group means your voice helps shape how support is delivered at UHI Moray. Your experiences, ideas and feedback help us improve services, remove barriers and create a more welcoming environment for all students.

Through the Promise Group, you can:

  • Have your voice heard in decisions that affect student support
  • Help improve how students are supported before, during and after starting college
  • Connect with staff who understand your experiences
  • Help make UHI Moray a more inclusive place for current and future students

You do not need to share personal experiences unless you choose to.

Support is offered in a sensitive and discreet way, with a focus on understanding your individual circumstances.

Get involved

You are welcome to get involved with the UHI Moray Promise Group at any point during your studies.

Getting involved is a chance to:

  • Share feedback on student support
  • Help shape positive change
  • Support other students by improving services
