Give it a go! Log your activity between 19th February and 2nd March and help your local college campus reach a target of 24,901 miles, which is the distance around the world!

Be Active is all about becoming a bit more active on a more regular basis.  Being more active can improve your health and wellbeing.  Be Active opens the door to new possibilities, like enjoying the outdoors, meeting new people, visiting new places, and having fun.

Be Active is a student and staff initiative for everyone across all college campuses and for people within the University of the Highlands and Islands area.  Everyone can take part; all abilities, all ages, as individuals, together with friends or in teams.  All activities can be logged by distance, steps or by time, for example:

  • Walking
  • Stepping
  • High intensity exercise classes (time)
  • Wheeling
  • Skiing and snow boarding
  • Rowing
  • Skipping
  • Swimming
  • Cycling
  • Dancing
  • Running
  • Weight lifting and gym (time)
  • Football, hockey, rugby (time)
  • Horse riding
  • Meta-fit (time)

Be Active is part of the annual university student health and wellbeing event - Healthy, Happy You taking place this year from 19 February until Friday 2 March, and incorporating the national University Mental Health Day on Thursday 1 March.
