Moray College UHI HISA Depute Presidents

Each college is represented locally by Depute Presidents, and Moray College UHI has two of them! Alan (above left) and Mark (above right) are your Depute Presidents for 2017-18.

Alan Simpson moved to Moray with his wife in 2016 so that she can work as GP in the area. This change in location gave the perfect opportunity to return to full time education and pursue a more academic career. He has 10 years’ experience working as a joiner, in both the construction and the retail industry. During the winter months he was able to live in Austria on a ski resort where he worked as a ski guide/chalet host, cooking, cleaning and organising events. Alan trained as a tree surgeon and ran his own business for 5 years in Cumbria. A full time student at Moray College UHI, Alan is working towards a degree in Environmental Science.

Mark Harshaw has been a full time student at Moray college UHI for the last two years studying Applied Sciences, during which he was the class rep, taking an active interest in meeting and helping those within his class to raise their concerns and appreciations. Mark is a keen environmentalist and vegan which has lead him towards studying for an honours degree in Environmental Sciences, and is mainly focused on conservation and the development of sustainable technologies and process to help protect our natural heritage.

You can contact your deputes through facebook, or you can e-mail Alan or Mark directly.
