Where are they now: Jeni, HND Professional Cookery
Many of our students go on to be their own boss, we caught up with HND Professional Cookery alum Jeni who opened her Country Inn in April 2022.
Hi Jeni, Can you start by telling us a bit about youself?
I'm Jeni, since finishing my studies I have a Country Inn which has a restaurant, function hall, camping, cafe, accommodation, private dining and private lounge.
What have been the key milestones since you graduated?
I left college and worked as a private chef. I then opened an equestrian business with my husband whilst I found a property to take on. I then in 2019 room on our current premises and spent 3 years overhauling the entire place. We opened in April 2022 and have slowly gained momentum since that time.
What are your future plans?
To expand our business and get more involved with those training and coming into the industry to try and give back a little of the help I received to get where I am today.
How did your studies help you get to where you are now?
The course helped my gain understanding and skills in the areas I was interested in and help my become more confident.
Lastly, what was the best thing about studying with us?
The best thing about studying at UHI Moray was the support and guidance from the lecturer team. I wouldn’t be where I am now without those who guided and taught me and delivered a great course.
