Jamie-Lee Cowan, SWAP Access to Nursing (SCQF Level 6)
This course gave me a second chance at education, after leaving school early years ago and helped me decide this is what I wanted to do for a career.
The course was delivered in a way that really worked for me, and the module content was fascinating. I could relate much of it back to my own life. People in my class encouraged me, and helped me stay on track.
I’ve now been accepted into a nursing degree – something I never thought would be possible. I passed every unit except one, and that was still enough.
Nadja-Maurina Korner, BSc (Hons) Integrative Healthcare
It was very rewarding to study at BSc level with kind and knowledgeable lectures and peers.
The course enabled me to draw relations between my previous knowledge of healthcare as well as to focus on areas of interest.
It allowed me to carry out in-depth research on topics that are very relevant in healthcare today and the practical skills of the therapies, supports many people around me in their physical and mental health as well as it gives me treatment options to offer with my own business.
The support of the tutors was incredible. Everyone is very kind, supportive and always happy to help in any way they can.
Hannah McGarrie, BA (Hons) Business Management
I needed to live at home because I’m also a carer for family. I was able to progress seamlessly through the courses before taking my degree because a lot of it was online which made it possible to juggle life and learning.
This course combined everything I was interested in, from HR to Marketing, and let me explore business in a way that helped me decide a career path
The student support services are brilliant and helped me gain access to everything I needed which included, learning support and emotional support.
Lyn Taylor, HND Accounting
Moray is great for mature students, I am 46 now and would recommend it to anyone who is interested in trying something new or gaining further qualifications in an existing field.
I don’t consider myself someone who finds mathematics easy, scientific mathematics was especially challenging, but the support from the lecturer made it much easier for me to understand and enable me to pass the exam.
Lindsey Monkhouse, BA (Hons) Childhood Practice
Studying the course has enhanced my level of experience and expertise, putting me in a position to move forward in my career if and when the time is right.
Studying an online course can feel quite isolating, so I had to stay focused and manage my time effectively, which was not always easy. Fortunately, a group chat was created on WhatsApp for all students on the program. Over the two years, friendships were developed, and we supported each other throughout the course. Susan Martin (my PAT) was a great support, always on hand when I needed her.
