Teresa Elliot, is now in her 4th year of the new Integrative Healthcare degree which is the only course of its kind in Scotland, delivered through Moray College UHI as part of the University of the Highlands and Islands.

Teresa took on the challenge as part of her work placement during her course to promote the benefits of integrative healthcare within GP surgeries to provide alternative treatments such as complementary therapies to reduce analgesia medicine bills.

As a result of Teresa’s determination a pain management clinic was established in a local surgery aimed specifically at the effectiveness gaps in chronic pain treatment and management.

Rosemary McCormack, Head of Curriculum said: “A fantastic achievement for Teresa. An absolutely deserved award for one of our first students to enter into the BSc (Hons) Integrative Healthcare degree at Moray College and the University of the Highlands and Islands.  A really rewarding result for everyone involved.”
