We are delighted one of our former students, Charis Edward-Wells has been longlisted for the Sky Academy Arts Scholarships out of 1104 applicants.

Charis Edward-Wells

Charis has been selected as one of the best 10 artists to be taken through to this stage in winning one of five scholarships.

The award is for a potential £30,000 of funding to support an artist’s project and support needs for one year, taking their practice to the next level, alongside working with a Sky Academy mentor.

Charis graduated in 2015 with a First Class Honours degree in Fine Art from Moray School of Art. Since graduating she has opened up a studio in Elgin working on a number of projects. If successful her scholarship award will be used to create, manage and fund arts events for the next year in Elgin as part of her FLASH FLOOD project.

Charis said: “I’m thrilled to be in the top ten for the Sky Academy Visual Art Scholarship. I’m really glad the panel have recognised the strength of my proposal and project and I’m looking forward to bringing some national focus on the visual art sector in Elgin and Moray.”
