Leigh Miele, Training Co-ordinator

My name is Leigh, the Training Co-ordinator for Employability at UHI Moray.

I’m not long back from maternity leave, well, I came back in August 2022 but time flies when you’re having fun.

I really enjoy meeting new people who will benefit from what we can offer on our employability project. Creating and developing employment opportunities in Moray is part of the role I’m proud of.

After graduating from University of Aberdeen with my Honours degree in pharmacology and bio-business, I completed a graduate placement focusing on Marketing, leading me here to UHI Moray where I have been now for over 7 years.

People know me as an organised person with a methodical approach, this is true Monday to Friday, at the weekends though, I am usually running around after my 1-year-old daughter. However, when the opportunity shows itself, I am the karaoke queen! Its Shania Twain for me, anything else ‘don’t impress me much'.

Kristy Jones, Co-ordinator

Hi, Im Kristy, the Employability Co-ordinator currently funded by European Social Fund (ESF). My role is to make sure the training that is needed to support people into sustainable work is available and easily accessible.

I have recently graduated from the University of Wolverhampton achieving a Master’s in Education and moved up to Scotland for a change of scenery. Previously working within outdoor education, I found my love for travelling. I have often travelled solo, and my favourite places are Croatia, Athens, and India. As well as travelling I also have some hidden talents! Achieving a BA Honours Degree in Dance I have pirouetted around the Royal Albert Hall and Disneyland Paris! What also comes as a surprise to people is that I am a keen Axe thrower, the guys in the office have stopped helping themselves to my snack drawer since I told them, that worked out well for us all.

Marc Luxon, Support Worker

Hi, I’m Marc with a C just to keep a little on the unique side. I am the Employability Support Worker at UHI Moray. I am so passionate about my role here and love to support people through life’s highs and lows, towards their career goals, achieving the things they never thought they could.

I like the outdoors, hill walking, paddle boarding and exploring our amazing scenery with my dog Misty. I enjoy spending time with family and friends, discovering new places.

I have a HND in sports coaching as well as a Teaching English as a Foreign Language certificate. I spent some time in Spain learning about the culture, bringing back some valuable lessons I still use now.

I like to joke around with the office, my humour can be a little cheesy but that’s ok, I do consider myself somewhat of a cheese connoisseur!

Jacqui Taylor, Head of Marketing and External Relations

Hi I’m Jacqui Taylor, the Marketing and Internal Relations head here at UHI Moray.

My talents are endless, with over 25 years in project management and a lifelong Runrig fan, I’d be here all-day listing all the pies I have my fingers in but being busy all day and all night every single day of my life does have its perks, like almost never seeing (my greatest flame), my husband! We do go kayaking together though, exploring places like Loch Maree and well, every river, really. I’m already planning our next trip, you know a bit like John Darwin and his wife, without the theft.

I enjoy spending time with friends and putting the world to rights. Just crack open the wine if you need to protect and survive though, I’ll be asleep and going home before you know it!
