Moray to Host First-Ever Indie Games Expo This October
More than 25 game developers, studios and publishers will come together at UHI Moray this October for Moray's first-ever independent video games expo, bringing a major gaming industry event to the North of Scotland.

IAM Gaming Expo (Indie Arcade Moray), organised by Indie Game Squad, takes place on Saturday 3 October 2026 from 10am to 5pm at UHI Moray in Elgin. The event will showcase independent games from across Scotland and beyond, giving visitors the chance to play new games, meet developers and hear directly from industry professionals.
The expo aims to celebrate the creativity of the games industry while encouraging people of all ages across Moray and the Highlands to explore opportunities in game development, digital technology and the wider creative industries.
Confirmed speakers include Jenny Caplan of Wee Tattie Studios, Rafael "Lontra" Teixeira of Mito Games, Claire Morwood, creator of Asterism, and games industry professional Chris Allen.
Visitors can also take part in a Mario Kart 8 tournament, play games on UHI Moray's esports PCs and enjoy a live performance from Glasgow-based video game music band The GGs.
The event is supported by headline partners Code Wizards Group, Hunted Cow Games and Flaming Fowl Studios, alongside sponsorship from Openly Game Men, Out of the Darkness Theatre Company, UHI Moray, Struggle Games Studio and Stikkz Media.
IAM Gaming Expo has been organised by Andrew French, co-founder of Indie Game Squad, Marketing and Communications Adviser for UHI Moray and lecturer on UHI Moray's Foundation Apprenticeship in Creative & Digital Media programme. Earlier this year, he won the Best Community Idea award at the UHI Business Competition for his vision of creating a support hub for independent game developers across the North of Scotland.

"IAM Gaming Expo was created to bring the excitement and creativity of the independent games industry to Moray. Events like this are often concentrated in Scotland's central belt, but there is huge talent and enthusiasm here in the North of Scotland.
We hope the expo will encourage people to discover independent games, meet developers and explore the many career opportunities available across the games industry and wider creative sectors."
