What is special about this course?

Delivered in partnership with Out of the Darkness Theatre Company, the course focuses on Musical Theatre, integrating singing, acting, and dance into a dynamic, industry-relevant training experience.

Throughout the course, you'll explore a range of performing and production arts topics while developing your creative, technical and performance skills. Through practical projects, rehearsals and live performance opportunities, you'll gain experience of professional working practices and learn how to engage and connect with audiences.

Where possible you will also have the opportunity to engage with the acting industry, including talks and workshops with practising professionals and theatre trips.

This course is delivered face-to-face on campus including practical classes and performances.

Normally, if you are studying full time for the first time and are Ordinarily Resident in Scotland your course fees will be covered through the information you provide on your course application.

If you are studying part time and are on low income or in receipt of certain benefits your course fees may be covered by a fee waiver.

If you are not Ordinarily Resident in Scotland, you may need to pay course fees.

What can I do on completion of my course?

On successful completion of the course you can progress onto further study including:

  • HNC/D Acting and Performance
  • HNC Musical Theatre
  • BA (Hons) Drama and Production

Alternatively, you will have the skills to gain employment in freelance performing and production roles or organisational positions including formal education and community engagement.
