What is special about this course?

With study taking place at Moray School of Art, this UAL Awarding Body course is the perfect taster for anyone with an interest in Art and Design.  

Through hands-on workshops, you'll explore a range of art and design materials, methods and processes while developing essential creative, communication and digital skills. You'll work on both 2D and 3D projects, investigate time-based creative work, and learn how research and experimentation contribute to the creative process.

Designed to build your confidence and develop your artistic abilities, you'll gain valuable experience of creative learning and a better understanding of the expectations of full-time study in art and design.

Accommodation

We offer modern student accommodation at a number of our locations.

No formal qualifications are required for entry; we will ask to see a portfolio of artwork at interview which should include examples of artwork to show us your level and interest.

  • Introduction to communication skills in art, design and media
  • Solving 2D creative problems
  • Solving 3D creative problems
  • Solving time-based creative problems
  • Art, design and media project 

How will I study my course?

  • Full Time

This is a practical based course delivered face-to-face on campus, supplemented with our Virtual Learning Environment (VLE).

Assessments happen through artwork and sketchbook work submitted at the end point for each of the three projects.

Normally, if you are studying full time for the first time and are Ordinarily Resident in Scotland your course fees will be covered through the information you provide on your course application.

If you are studying part time and are on low income or in receipt of certain benefits your course fees may be covered by a fee waiver.

If you are not Ordinarily Resident in Scotland, you may need to pay course fees.

Equipment

You may be entitled to a bursary which will cover a basic art pack for use throughout the year. If you are not in receipt of a bursary the cost of this pack is around £120, and can be purchased directly from Moray School of Art.

You may need to purchase additional items.
