With study taking place at Moray School of Art, this UAL Awarding Body course is the perfect taster for anyone with an interest in Art and Design.  

Providing a perfect opportunity to school leavers or mature learners, this course offers an engaging programme of in-person material workshops without the commitment of a full year course.

Exploring the materials, methods and processes that support art and design activities, you will:

  • Develop the skills, knowledge and understanding required for progression within art and design education

Entry requirements

No formal qualifications are required for entry; we will ask to see a portfolio of artwork at interview. 

Course content includes:

  • Introduction to materials, processes and technical skills in art and design.
  • Introduction to contextual research in art and design.  
  • Introduction to communication skills in art, design and media
  • Solving 2D creative problems
  • Solving 3D creative problems
  • Solving time-based creative problems
  • Art, design and media project 

This course offers access to a programme of external speakers and artist talks from across the art and design industry.

Two gallery trips included in the course offer.

Fees

Normally, if you are studying full time for the first time and are Ordinarily Resident in Scotland your course fees will be covered through the information you provide on your course application.

If you are studying part time and are on low income or in receipt of certain benefits your course fees may be covered by a fee waiver.

If you are not Ordinarily Resident in Scotland, you may need to pay course fees.
