Our evening course is an ideal for those looking for an introduction to counselling theory for practice. Introducing you to the main theoretical schools of counselling you will explore the historical development of each.
By understanding the Psychodynamic, Humanistic and Cognitive Behavioural Schools of Counselling you will develop a deeper knowledge of the role of a counsellor.

Entry requirements
No specific entry requirements
Students will investigate the following topics in the terms of historical development and the role of the counsellor within each approach.
+ Psychodynamic School of Counselling
+ Cognitive Behavioural School of Counselling
+ Humanistic School of Counselling
You will also apply a wide range of counselling skills within these approaches to develop your practical skills.
