What is special about this course?
Designed to prepare you for a future apprenticeship, this course introduces you to key carpentry and joinery techniques, construction processes, and the standards expected in the workplace.
Combining workshop-based activities with classroom learning, you'll develop skills in roof and wall tiling, joinery components, constructional carpentry and bench joinery. You'll also gain an understanding of health and safety, productive working practices and the theory that underpins construction work.
Alongside these practical trade skills, you will develop essential communication, numeracy, IT and employability skills allowing you to step into a career in brickwork or the wider construction industry

Fees
Normally, if you are studying full time for the first time and are Ordinarily Resident in Scotland your course fees will be covered through the information you provide on your course application.
If you are studying part time and are on low income or in receipt of certain benefits your course fees may be covered by a fee waiver.
If you are not Ordinarily Resident in Scotland, you may need to pay course fees.

Equipment
You will be required to purchase safety boots and boiler suit (approximately £50). If you are eligible for a bursary these costs will be covered.
