The course involves practical office work at our campus model offices.

Entry requirements

  • Three National 4s including English OR
  • A SCQF Level 4 course
  • Applications are encouraged from prospective students without the standard entry requirements as listed above.

You will be required to purchase your own headphones to use throughout the course.

How will I study my course?

You will study through a combination of face-to-face practical office work classes on campus and remote learning, where some lectures and sessions are timetabled remotely via video conferencing and our Virtual Learning Environment (VLE), with support from your lecturers.

You are also encouraged to undertake work experience throughout your course.

Normally, if you are studying full time for the first time and are Ordinarily Resident in Scotland your course fees will be covered through the information you provide on your course application.

If you are studying part time and are on low income or in receipt of certain benefits your course fees may be covered by a fee waiver.

What can I do on completion of my course?

On successful completion of this course you may progress to further study such as:

  • HNC Administration and Information Technology
  • HNC Business
  • HNC Accounting

If you wish to progress from NC Administration you must achieve the Group Award which must include the following two (SCQF Level 6) options:

  • HR Administration
  • Administrative Theory and Practice

Alternatively, you can enter employment within a diverse range of office settings using a range of administrative skills.

NC Admin gives students an opportunity to develop essential practical skills for both employment in an office situation and to enable further study within Administration.  At the end of this one year course, students should feel confident enough to apply for jobs in many areas of administration, whether front of office or behind the scenes.
