What is special about this course?

This course is designed to provide students with a full range of experiences to enable them to embark on a career in Administration.

The course involves practical office work in the Administration Training Suite.


Entry requirements

3 National 4s, one of which must be English


satisfactory attainment of a SCQF Level 4 course.

Applications are encouraged from mature students who do not possess formal qualifications but have appropriate understanding and skills to meet the academic demands of the course.

How will I study my course?

  • Full Time

Face to face teaching and practical office work supported with Virtual Learning Environment engagement.  Students are encouraged to undertake work experience.

Depending on the subject this could be end of year assessment, continuous assessment, practical assessment.

Assessment may also be by recording and observation.

Full time - 1 year.

Further study may include higher level courses including HNC Administration and Information Technology, HNC Business or HNC Accounting.

For students wishing to progress from NC Administration they must achieve the Group Award which must include the following 2 options:

• F5AG 12 - HR Administration
• J1YB 76- Administrative Theory and Practice

Employment in a diverse range of office settings throughout the business world using a range of administrative skills.
