Entry requirements

You must have at least two years' work experience in a relevant setting PLUS one of the following:

  • BA (Hons) Social Work (or equivalent)
  • GA BA Early Learning and Childcare
  • Degree/Diploma in Community Education as recognised by the Standards Council for Community Learning and Development for Scotland Approvals Committee
  • A qualification meeting the registration requirements for the following professional groups regulated by the Health and Care Professions Council:
    • Occupational Therapists
    • Art, Music and Drama Therapists
    • Physiotherapists
    • Speech and Language Therapists
    • Practitioner Psychologists
  • A qualification meeting the registration requirements of the General Teaching Council (Scotland), Nursing and Midwifery Council, or the General Medical Council

CPD Award

You will study the following modules:

  • Contemporary issues in childhood practice 
  • Leading change in childhood practice 
  • Promoting children’s rights and inclusion in childhood practice

  • You will learn through online study via the university's virtual learning environment (VLE), with support from your tutors
