What is special about this course?
This 1 day course is suitable for parents and childcare workers and covers First Aid skills relevant to young people up to the age of 8 years.
This course is designed to give you the essential knowledge and practical skills in first aid, including resuscitation, recovery techniques, lifetheatening bleeding and responding to emergencies involving children.

- Actions of first aider in case of an accident or emergency
- Theory of child cardio-pulmonary resuscitation
- Practical child cardio-pulmonary resuscitation
Recognition and treatment of:
- Bleeding
- Choking
- Shock
- Burns
- Head injuries and causes of unconsciousness
- Fractures
- Poisons
- Meningitis
- Allergic reactions
- Asthma
- Common childhood ailments
- Competency in use of bandages and dressings
