Taught by experienced lecturers in our Beechtree Restaurant, you'll build a versatile skill set from pastry and professional cookery to barista skills and alcoholic beverages. These fully transferable skills will prepare you for a wide range of roles across the hospitality sector and beyond.

Entry requirements
- Four National 5s (including English) OR
- Hospitality Operations or Professional Cookery at SCQF Level 5 OR
- Relevant SVQ at SCQF Level 5 OR
- Relevant industry experience
Applications are encouraged from prospective students without the standard entry requirements as listed above but have the skills to meet the academic demands of the course

There will be external engagement whenever possible, and this might include Field Trips, Guest Lectures and involvement with College Events and functions.
Equipment
A uniform and equipment are required for this course (approx. cost £500-750). If you are eligible for a bursary these costs will be covered.

You will study through a combination of face-to-face practical lessons and theory classes on campus, supplemented by our Virtual Learning Environment (VLE).

What can I do on completion of my course?
On successful completion of this course you may:
- progress on to the HNC in Hospitality Operations or Professional Cookery
- enter employment in roles such as Waiter, Bartender, Events Co-ordinator, Barista, Assistant Manager, Host or Chef De Partie.
