What is special about this course?

This course aims to provide you with extra support and confidence as you prepare for your Higher English exams in early May.

Open to learners across Moray, you will have a carefully designed mixture of face-to-face teaching and online materials to help you master the intricacies of Reading for Understanding, Analysis and Evaluation.  There will also be opportunities to receive feedback on your answers for the Critical Reading paper with the aim to boost your final grade.

How will I study my course?

  • Part Time

You will study through a combination of face-to-face classes on campus and remote learning via our Virtual Learning Environment (VLE), with support from your lecturers.

How long will my course last?

10 Weeks

January 2027 to April 2027, 2pm – 4pm

20 hours face-to-face contact and 20 hours of learning resources on the VLE.

Fees

Normally, if you are studying full time for the first time and are Ordinarily Resident in Scotland your course fees will be covered through the information you provide on your course application.

If you are studying part time and are on low income or in receipt of certain benefits your course fees may be covered by a fee waiver.

If you are not Ordinarily Resident in Scotland, you may need to pay course fees.

What can I do on completion of my course?

This course can help with the completion of the Higher English qualification which can lead into higher education such as HNC/D or Degree programmes including teaching qualifications.
