What is special about this course?
National 5 Maths is recognised as the entry requirement for Teacher Training and Health and Social Care Service courses, as well as employers such as the Police, Emergency Services and the Armed Services.
This course will provide you with a good foundation for progression to Higher Maths and will strengthen your confidence when working with calculations and understanding how the world around works.
Studying this course can also allow you to understand and support others while they are doing their National 5 Maths in school or college.

- This course covers all the content of the National 5 course, in preparation for the exam which takes place in May.
Entry requirements
No formal entry requirements however a National 4 in Maths would be beneficial.

Equipment
You will need a scientific calculator (approx. £10) and the Leckie National 5 Maths textbook ISBN 978-0-00-828200-4 (approx. £20 for printed book or £5 for online e-book). A protractor is beneficial but not essential.
Fees
If you are studying part time and are on low income or in receipt of certain benefits your course fees may be covered by a fee waiver.
If you are not Ordinarily Resident in Scotland, you may need to pay course fees.
