First Aid at Work Certificate Course

This covers all aspects of First Aid to gain certification as a suitable person and is valid for 3 years and meets the requirements of the Health and Safety (First Aid) Regulations 1981.

In line with HSE guidelines it is strongly recommended that holders attend the Resuscitation Skills Update course annually.

First Aid at Work Certificate Requalification Course

This course is open to those holding a current First Aid at Work Certificate. It is designed for those who wish to update their first aid skills and renew their certification for a further three years and meets the requirements of the Health and Safety (First Aid) Regulations 1981. The course provides a practical update on all aspects of First Aid covered in the First Aid at Work Certificate course.

In line with HSE guidelines it is strongly recommended that holders attend the Resuscitation Skills Update course annually.

In response to coronavirus (COVID-19) we are implementing the following measures to ensure the safety of our staff, students and visitors: content

In response to coronavirus (COVID-19) we are implementing the following measures to ensure the safety of our staff, students and visitors:

  • Sessions will take place in a room with improved ventilation
  • Reduced class sizes (from 12 to 8)
  • Candidates will be required to complete a pre-course COVID-19 screening questionnaire
  • 2 metre social distancing will be implemented in the classroom
  • For practical activities, such as casualty handling and bandaging, masks and gloves will be mandatory and such exposure will be minimised
  • Each candidate will have a dedicated resuscitation manikin for the duration of the course
  • The use of face shields/masks will be mandatory for resuscitation practice
  • All touchpoints in the classroom will be subject to frequent cleaning during the lessons
  • Following the course manikins will be rigorously cleaned and lungs replaced

All courses are FAIB approved. FAIB is the First Aid Industry body who now validate our training and ensure standards are maintained nationwide in accordance with the Health and Safety (First Aid) Regulations 1981. All courses below provide an overview of the use of an AED (Defibrillator).
