Bursaries, grants and allowances
Funding for your Further Education course is available online through the College. We use one form to assess your eligibility to EMA Allowances, Bursary Allowances for Living Costs, Travel and Study costs for Books, Uniform and Equipment that you may need for the course and help with Childcare costs and Accommodation costs. You will be sent information about the Student Support Funds to the email account you gave us on your course application. We also have a Summary of funds allowances which tells you the maximum rates and how we pay them.
When you have accepted your unconditional offer of a place on your chosen course, we send you the details of how to access the application with login details for your online HUB account. If you are a part time student either under 18 or eligible for the Part Time Course Fee Waiver, you may be entitled to help with your travel and equipment costs and you should contact Student Services to be able to access the online application if you do not receive these once offered an unconditional place.
Funding for your full time Higher Education course is available online through SAAS. They use one form to assess your entitlement to Course Fees, Student Loans for Living Costs, Young Persons Bursary, Independent Students Bursary and other supplementary grants for Dependants, Lone Parents and Vacation Grant for Care Leavers.

If you also need help with Childcare costs and or Accommodation costs this is available online through the College through theUHI Higher Education Discretionary Funds, Childcare Funds and Lone Parent Childcare Grant. You can apply for this if you have accepted your unconditional offer of a place on your chosen course, you should contact Student Services and we will send you the details of how to access the application with login details for your online HUB account.
Once you have completed your application to the college for funding, you will be able to track its progress through your online HUB account and pick up any letters about your award. Your HUB account will be your central point for your college life, offering you many services and tools including your funding. If you have been made an award then the letter will tell you how much you have been awarded and when the payments will be. You will have a separate letter for each fund. There are also accompanying documents which tell you how we have calculated your award Your Award Letter Explained and any additional forms you might claim funds for, Additional Course Materials Costs and any Placement Travel Expenses. We also have forms for you to complete should you want to change the bank account where your fund will be paid into. If you have been awarded funds for Childcare costs, then you will also need to submit a Childcare Expense Claim Form each week to get the payments (you do not need to do this for payments to the College Nursery).
