Senior Phase for Schools

As you make choices for your Senior Phase, why not consider one of our Senior Phase courses? If you are in S4, 5 or 6, you can study one day per week in college, helping to shape your future career or studies.

If you know that you want to be a joiner – why not study Skills for Work Construction?  If medicine is your thing – Scientific Lab Skills or Higher Human Biology will add value to the qualifications, you already have.

Or why not apply for a Foundation Apprenticeship, a new addition to our Senior Phase Programme that you can apply for in S5 or S6.  Foundation Apprenticeships can be taken alongside your other subject choices like National 5s and Highers.

As you work towards an industry recognised qualification you will spend time out of school at college studying for a National Progression Awards 1 day a week during year 1 and in year 2 you will work with a local employer 1 day a week undertaking part of an SVQ qualification.

There are many elements to consider before making your senior phase decision, but we’re here to help!

  • which subjects are you best at?
  • which subjects do you enjoy most?
  • which options will lead to a promising career and make you stand out more than your peers?

Your Guidance teacher will be able to help answer some of these questions for you, and depending on which subjects you choose to follow, you may be able to study in college or online!

Spending time at College during the Senior Phase can help bridge the gap between school and college/university and even employment. We work closely with all Moray schools and can help you reach your full potential in your chosen field while still at school– there are opportunities for everyone!

Transport is provided by schools to enable pupils to benefit from the Senior Phase provision.

Applications are also welcome from home educated pupils, contact us for an application form.
