Computing and Digital Media: Introduction SCQF Level 5
What is special about this course?
This course is designed to provide a structured progression if you are interested in pursuing a career in the computing and digital media industry.
You will gain experience and develop a range of skills and knowledge relating to computer hardware, website design, programming and multimedia (using Adobe software).
- Study a variety of subjects to underpin key aspects of computing and digital media
- Learn skills to enable you to progress to further study or into employment
- Learn about computing and digital media in a friendly and supportive environment
- Computers are everywhere, this course will provide transferable skills in a digital world
Three National 4s, one of which must be a literacy-based subject (e.g. English, History, Modern Studies etc.)
satisfactory attainment of any SCQF Level 4 course or equivalent. You may also be invited to attend an interview.
Applications are encouraged from mature students who do not possess formal qualifications but have the skills to meet the academic demands of the course.

How will I study my course?
- Full Time
The method of teaching is face-to-face lectures, tutorials and workbooks which you are able to work through at your own pace in line with required timescales.
All material delivered in class is also available on our Virtual Learning Environment including formative assessment and quizzes to test your knowledge.

What can I do on completion of my course?
On successful completion of 12 units from this course, you can progress to further study such as NC Computing with Digital Media (SCQF Level 6).
Alternatively, you can apply to enter employment into a wide variety of jobs at junior level.
