Satisfactory attainment of SVQ in Hairdressing and Barbering SCQF level 4 (formerly STW/SVQ level 1)
Industrial Experience of 2 years
• Cut Hair Using Basic Barbering Techniques
• Cut Facial Hair to Shape Using Basic Techniques
• Dry and Finish Mens Hair
• Create Basic Outlines and Detailing in Hair
• Advise and Consult With Clients
• Shampoo, Condition and Treat the Hair and Scalp
• Develop and Maintain Your Effectiveness at Work
• Colour and Lighten Mens Hair

Flexible delivery will consist of, lecturer lead teaching, demonstration, practical, VLE, independent study and online solar assessment.
How long will my course last?
Day release course - Mondays (9 hours per day) over 18 months.

The good news is that depending on your personal circumstances there are a wide range of bursaries, grants and allowances available to fund your college studies.
What can I do on completion of my course?
Learners can progress directly into industry, or to a range of qualifications including Barbering at SCQF level 6 (formerly SVQ Level 3) or Hairdressing at SCQF level 6 (formerly SVQ Level 3), by means of a bridging course to give transition from barbering to hairdressing.
