Horticulture - Practical: Steps to Work SCQF Level 4

What is special about this course?

This Practical Horticulture award is designed to support flexible and individualised learning and to recognise wider achievement through choice and opportunity. This is a hands-on introductory course, designed for people starting out in horticulture, that introduces subjects such as plant establishment, garden maintenance and plant propagation.
The course incorporates a SVQ in Horticulture SCQF Level 4 (formerly SVQ Level 1).

Entry requirements

Working towards 2 National 4s including English or equivalent e.g. may include relevant attainment at National 3.

What can I do on completion of my course?

•  Further study may include the College Certificate in Amenity Horticulture, SVQ Level 2 Horticulture or similar course.

•  With the bulk of the course consisting of hands-on practical horticulture, it leads naturally to a career working in the horticulture industry, eg. Garden Centres, Parks, Local Authority employment etc.
