Computing with Digital Media NC (Level 6)

What is special about this course?

The course aims to prepare you for employment in the Computing and Digital Media industries.  It will strengthen and extend your knowledge within a broad range of computing disciplines, both practical and theoretical. It will also prepare you for progression onto higher education programmes in Computing and Digital Media.

Entry requirements

 

4 National 5s (2 at A or B and 2 at A-D), one of which must be English

or

satisfactory attainment of a prerequisite SCQF Level 5 course or equivalent.

The course develops knowledge and skills in a range of computing subject areas such as:
• Website Development
• Advanced Office Applications
• Data Security
• Communication
• Hardware and Networking
• Software Development

How will I study my course?

  • Full Time
  • Part Time

The method of teaching is face-to-face lectures, tutorials and workbooks which the learners are able to work through at their own pace.  All material delivered in class is also available on our Virtual Learning Environment, including quizzes to test your knowledge.

The course is assessment by a variety of methods which includes:- portfolio evidence, open book tasks - practical and theoretical, closed book question papers.

The course will provide an opportunity to enter employment at a junior level in Computing and Digital Media.
Opportunity to progress to the HNC Computing or HNC Digital Design and Web Development.
