Counselling Introduction

What is special about this course?

This course is designed for any individual who is interested in knowing more about counselling, who wishes to explore counselling as a possible career, or who uses counselling or counselling skills as part of their work or voluntary activity.

This course provides an entry level opportunity to develop interpersonal skills, self-awareness and theoretical knowledge.

It will provide a basic understanding of counselling, the skills used and approaches and perspectives as well as practical exercises.

The course lasts for 10 weeks; students will attend for 3 hours per week. The course runs in January and October.


Unfortunately there is no funding available for Leisure Courses. Participants will therefore by liable for the full cost of this course.

What can I do on completion of my course?

You can progress to the DipHE Person-Centred Counselling and Psychotherapy.
