Skills for Choice College Certificate

What is special about this course?

This course is designed to include a combination of education, motivation and engaging programmes.

It offers the provision of a range of learning areas across the college and hence a variety of learning experiences, combined with the specialism of SkillForce.

The focus of the course is to give students the opportunity to sample a range of subject areas offered by Moray College UHI and thereby give the students the opportunity to progress into a specific area/course.

The course will focus on motivation, employability and citizenship through engaging with SkillForce and student advice tutorials.

SkillForce put an emphasis on developing team work and leadership skills as well as focus on employability skills. This offers the student a balanced course that includes an academic focus to progress within college or the choice to develop sound employability and leadership skills.

Entry requirements

Working towards 2 National 4s including English or equivalent e.g. may include relevant attainment at National 3.

Referral from SDS (Skills Development Scotland), School or other agencies would be welcomed.

 

 

Students should be prepared to try a range of subject areas which may include:

• Core Skills (IT, Numeracy and Communication)

• Administration

• Science

• Social Sciences

• Employability Award

• SkillForce

 

In addition, students can select a focus on their studies from:

• Sport

• Hairdressing

• Digital Media

• Care

• Construction

• Hospitality

• Horticulture

 

Additional routes may become available subject to demand.
