Moving and Assisting College Certificate

What is special about this course?

This course will provide an awareness of the theory and practical practice when moving and assisting, giving an understanding of the regulations, organisational policies and procedures within the work place to keep staff, clients and visitors safe.

By completing this course you will have the appropriate skills and safe practice required to deal with different situations involving best practice for moving and assisting.

Entry requirements

This course is designed for staff and volunteers working in care related environments.

The course will include:
• awareness of risk assessments and how risk is reduced
• structure of the spine and causes of back pain assessments needed in moving and assisting
• practical hands on experience of using moving and assisting equipment including: hoist, slings, slide sheets and assisting from the floor
