What is special about this course?
This Learning Step introduces you to some more features of word processing. Knowledge of these features would be very helpful in the workplace.
More and more jobs now require IT Skills in a wide range of areas. Having the Learning Steps qualification shows employers that you are willing to improve your IT skills.
This course can either be studied from home or in college at your own pace, either through the day or at an evening session. Our IT Trainers are here to provide support for you when required.
No formal entry qualifications or previous experience with computers required, although completion of Microsoft Word - Learning Step 1 is desirable.
Course content includes:
- Paragraph formatting
- Mail merge
Office 365 software is required for study which is available as a free download for students.

Flexible start dates. You can study for up to 20 hours from enrolment and can be started at any time in the year.
The good news is that depending on your personal circumstances there are a wide range of bursaries, grants and allowances available to fund your college studies.
What can I do on completion of my course?
After completing Learning Step 2 you can progress onto a Learning Step in a different programme. Your IT Trainer can help you decide.
You also have the option to progress to the European Computer Driving Licence or the Computing with Digital Media SCQF Level 5 course.
Completion of this course also demonstrates to employers a commitment to learn new skills.
