What is special about this course?
This Learning Step is ideal as a gentle introduction to Microsoft Excel. More and more jobs now require IT Skills in a wide range of areas. Having the Learning Steps qualification shows employers that you are willing to improve your IT skills. Beginning with the basics you are gently introduced to Presentations. With simple exercises to increase your confidence with the software.
- This course can either be studied from home or in college at your own pace
- You can study either through the day or at an evening session
- Our IT Trainers are here to provide support for you when required
No formal entry qualifications or previous experience with computers required.
Course content includes:
- Creating presentations
- Inserting graphs
- Clip art
- How to add presenter notes
Office 365 software is required for study which is available as a free download for students.

What can I do on completion of my course?
After completing Step 1 you can progress a Learning Step in a different program. Your IT Trainer can help you decide.
You also have the option to progress to the European Computer Driving Licence or the NC Computing with Digital Media SCQF Level 5 course.
Studying this short course also demonstrates to employers a commitment to learn new skills.
